Abby and Lee booked me for a whole day so I started the day at 09:00 at their house where Abby and her bridesmaid Emily were preparing. As per usual I blended in and let everyone do their thing and just roamed around looking for nice shots. As the hours progressed a little tension crept in as it always does when the realisation kicks in that in a few moments one will be married. Just before Abby and her party were to go to St. Mary’s Cathedral in Coulby Newham I had already left to record her arrival there. St. Mary’s Cathedral is not your standard cathedral. It is a modern structure with a distinct personality and it was the first time I photographed a church wedding in such surroundings.
The ceremony was lovely. The love radiating from Abby and Lee was almost tangible and you can see it was felt by everyone present if you look at them in the background of the pictures, all smiles. After the ceremony the rest of the day was spent at the Middlesbrough Golf Club. For the portraits we had to be mindful of golf balls in flight because it is a regular golf club and people were playing when we were taking the pictures. Around 21:00 I said goodbye to the newly weds after a wonderful day with wonderful people.
I wish the two of you and your children all the best, it was a pleasure to be part of your special day!
