On the 14th April 2018 I had the pleasure to photograph Danielle and Mark’s wedding. We had met in a preliminary meeting at their home and had already done a pre-wedding shoot at the Stray in Redcar. I first met up with Mark and his best man. I like it when I get the chance to spend time with the groom before the ceremony and capture his emotions in the moments before the ceremony. The realisation that this was the big day sunk in and Mark was getting a little nervous while I was silently snapping away. After he got ready we went to Danielle’s parents who live across the street to meet up with his son Harrison who had spent the night there.
I spent an hour with Mark and then went to the venue where Danielle was getting ready. When I just got there the atmosphere was relaxed. Danielle was with her bridesmaids and daughter Emily. As the moment of the ceremony drew closer Danielle also felt the nerves. She also realised that in just a few moments she would marry the love of her life.
Around the time of the ceremony I headed down to catch a few shots of the groom before Danielle would come to the altar accompanied by her father. The ceremony was emotional, it always delights me when I see two souls who are so deeply in love and savour the moment when they are wed. The release of happiness that follows is quite profound and always moves me.
After the lovely ceremony I stayed for the outdoor shots, speeches, cutting of the cake and the first dance. I really enjoyed the day filled with some wonderful people and wish Danielle and Mark a long, happy life together!
